Do readers feel welcome?

It occurred to me the other day that I have a link on the blog with resources for writers but I don’t have one for readers.  Then it occurred to me that I don’t know what readers want on an author web site or blog.  So help me out, readers. One of the reasons I started doing cocntests is that I thought readers liked them but I never really asked so I’m asking now.  What do you want to see on this site?  What would make this a fun place for you to visit?  What about a place for you to act out characters?  A place to discuss books?  All responses are welcome.

Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend!

  1. Angela,
I enjoy your blogs and visit you site quite frequently, even though I don’t respond all the time. I like the contest, and the fact that you keep us informed of updated events or events you have attended. Keep doing what you do, how you do it.

  2. Hi Angela –

I love the website, your blogs are current & interesting and full of color! I would love to see trivia questions not necessarily contest material but just questions. When I read a good book like “Up Pops the Devil” I need to continue interacting with the characters for a little while after closing the book. What about casting call questions?

Who do I think should play Preacher? u know stuff like that. Lastly I would like an author to ask for a different ending to a part of his or her book from us? What would we have done…lol

  3. Your blog has definitely been a combination of interaction for readers and writers, which I am both.

Speaking for a web developer’s point of view, I always encourage authors to include excerpts, discussion questions for book clubs, etc. Which you do have on your For Readers page.

Maybe include links to all your interviews on the “For Readers” page as well. Sometimes folks don’t always know and don’t use the search features. 🙂

I agree with Missy, I kind of like to see more from the characters. You could almost develop a blog or pages for the characters. You know let them come to life outside the book. That’s something I’m definitely planning to do as far as marketing with one of my characters.

  4. Hi Angela,

I think your blog is great. I love how informative it is regarding other great books, artists and authors that are out there. I think the way that you share your blog space with others is great.

I would love to be able to discuss books on your blog.

  5. Angela,
I enjoy reading your blogs. The contests are a great way to get people interested in writing. I like the idea about the trivia questions, to get a person thinking about whats happening in the story. What is the Christian message of the story? Angela, I’m loving all you do. Just purchased Up Pops the Devil, and if it is as good as Amen Sisters, it will be read in two days. I could hardly put the book down.
Thanks for giving us readers enjoyment and also the opportunity for suggestions on this website. Take care and God Bless you.
