I joined CURVES!

I finally moved my CURVES membership to my new home town. On Monday, they’re starting the “3 Times the Charm” challenge and I’m joining in. This means that for six weeks I will exercise three times a week. For every week that I make the goal, they enter me in a contest to win a special charm bracelet. I don’t really care about the bracelet, but I do want to make the 6 week challenge. Anybody want to join me? You don’ t have to join CURVES, just commit to exercising three times a week for the next six weeks. We’ll check-in together every Monday. How does that sound?

Be sure to check in Monday if you’re going to take the challenge.

  1. Congrads my sister. That’s awesome! Since I started my workout regimine back at the end of April, I’ve lost 15 pounds and 12 1/2 inches. I’m very excited. I’m doing a mixture of kickboxing (three times a week), yoga (once a week), CrossFit (four times a week) and running at the track (once a week). It feels great. I’ve also made lifestyle changes to my eating habits by somewhat following the Zone Diet. It supports eating lean meats, lots of veggies, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. And plenty of nuts and seeds. Even though I have never supported diets, this one is actually pretty Biblical, so I don’t really consider it a diet for me. When you start seeing results, it really motivates you to keep on keeping on.

Angela, I’m happy, happy, happy for you. You said you would get back on track and you’re doing just that. It really helps to keep a journal of your workouts and a monthly journal of your weight and measurements to see your improvements and to hold you accountable.

    Let’s do this!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  2. Angela! Congratulations! I’m a Curves member, too! I’m going to accept your challenge and actually USE my membership, now! I may not use it a lot, but something has to be better than nothing! It will be great to check-in with you! Thanks for the offer!
    Looking forward to the challenge~

  3. That’s great Angela and Michelle! I am on a SS Disability and limited in the exercises I can do (balance unsteady) but I can still walk with my trusty four-wheeled walker. Since I returned to school I can walk around the building during breaks so I’ll commit to 3 times a week. As Michelle said, ‘something has to be better than nothing! ‘
Actually, I wore a walker out because I used to walk 2-3 MILES a day on it. That was several pounds ago.
That’s for the wonderful reading material; I wish I had more time to read.

  4. I joined curves two weeks ago. I love it. I think that I might have been a little over zealous and I went 5 days instead of 3. So after 8 workouts I am aching all over. I will do 3 days and then on the other days I will walk. I am glad to join with you all. I will check in on Monday.

  5. Way to go my Sistahs !! Earlier today a good friend & I were talking about
the un Bibilical shape our temples (bodies) are in. I certainly will join in the
3 tmes per week exercising; I’m limited due to physical challenges but will
walk & work out with my “sitting exercise tapes”. Before getting the tapes
I didn’t think you could get a total work out sitting down but was I sadly mistaken !! In addition to exercise & journaling, portion control & water
are very important; most important is seeking God’s help in recreating
these temples. Remember “ain’t nothing to it but to do it ” !!!! 🙂

  6. I have joined Curves 6 weeks ago in St. Jean sur Richelieu, Quebec. It was hard to make the decision as I live in the country and work full time. I really enjoy the program even if I have to travel for 35 minutes to get to my curves centre after a 9 hour daily work schedule or before a 10 hour evening schedule. Still I made the commitment to go 3 times a week. My first weigh in was encouraging for the number of inches lost but I also know that I need a little more effort if I want to loose more pounds. I will be going on vacation in Florida for over a month and I intend to continue my work out. I will add daily walks and be very happy to see the new me. Keep up the challenge. We can all do it .
