Week 6 – Exercise Check-In

Well, ladies, where are you? Have we all dropped off? Or did my missing a posting week throw you off?

I have to confess that the last three weeks have not been good ones for me. I have a heel spur. It started about three weeks ago when I could barely walk without pain. It was awful! Has anyone had one before? I thought I’d broken my foot or something. Things are a bit better now that I’ve stayed off it awhile and starting using heel gel in my shoes. Apparently, this thing takes about six months to heal on its own. YIKES!!!

I don’t plan to be away from CURVES all that time, but I do have to find a way not to irritate my foot again. Geigh, you said you had a bit of a problem, too. I hope all is better. Now how about the rest of you? It’s time to celebrate or ‘fess up.

  1. Hey Angela. I’m doing well. I just reached my first goal–I lost 20 pounds!!! I reached that goal today when I got on the scale. I was so happy. I worked out today and I’m doing at least three days a week, sometimes more.

I actually hurt the inside of my foot. It’s been bothering me for a while and I couldn’t figure out why. I believed the personal trainer has identified the problem. I’ve been doing my squats wrong and putting too much pressure on the inside of my footsies! 🙂 So hopefully and prayerfully, everything will heal on its own.

I don’t know about you guys but all kinds of crazy stuff can be going on in my life, but when I’m working out, I don’t think about it AT ALL–NOT ONCE!!! I see and understand why and how people get addicted to working out!!!!!!

Angela, I hope the heel gel works!! 🙁 🙁

  2. Hi Angela,

My life has been hectic lately both dh and myself have been ill. He has heart trouble and had a stentput in July 19 only to find out a couple of weeks ago it closed on him. So they put another one in and so far-so good.
I just have the age-old ‘female problems.’

I have been walking three days a week, 10 minutes at a time at school.

This new walker my sister sent me is great!!! it’s the kind with 4 wheels, brakes, a seat, and a basket. My apartment is across the parking lot from a strip-mall and some saturdays I walk over there, stopping to sit down, and the basket is handy for carrying a loaf of bread or some typing paper back. No weight-loss to report but it is getting easier to do.

  3. I haven’t posted anything because I’m too lazy to exercise. I know, I know it’s a crime and a shame, but I have done some other things in the last 30 days. I’ve outlined my entire novel and I’ve read 3 craft books. I need to go to the gym and this thread reminds me of that. I so detest feeling the weight of another obligation/responsibility/thing I should be doing so I’ve been hiding, Angela.

  4. Hello Angela,

I also must confess the weight loss program has not happened as planned. Since I last wrote I have moved to the northern part of Illinois. I have only lost weight due to the move and not eating properly. But at this point, I’ll take it anyway I can get it. I’ll start my new job on the 30th and prayfully I can find a gym that’s not toooooo expensive. I fear I will do as I have in the past and simply pay the bill each month and never or very rarely attend/workout.
    Stay Blessed!
    Smooches!!!!

  5. Good going, Geigh and Charlotte! Please keep posting. You two are an encouragement.

Rhonda and Vyta, your honesty has touched me deeply. You know, I was afraid to post about the heel spur because it seemed like an excuse rather than an explanation. Please keep posting. This is not a diet. It’s about lifestyle and taking care of ourselves. Don’t feel guilty and don’t be burdened. It’s just life and we have to find away to be more active as we live it.

  6. Angela,

I try to always be honest. If I can’t do anything else, I can look at things for what they are. :o) Not wanting the weight of “another thing I have to do” is an excuse. So there, more honesty.

I am going to try very hard to go to the gym twice next week. I can do it on my telework day and on Saturday because my husband is home with the baby on Saturday and baby still goes to the sitter when I telework. It begins with me. I’ve got to do it. Keep posting messages. It’s got me thinking.

    Blessings,

    Rhonda
